About Private excursion to Ancient Olympia (Duration 8 Hours)
In the western Peloponnese, in the beautiful valley of the river Alpheios, flourished the most glorified sanctuary of ancient Greece, which was dedicated to the father of the gods, Zeus.
This is where the most important games of ancient Greece were born, the Olympic Games, held every four years in honor of Zeus, an institution with Hellenic radiance and brilliance from ancient times to the present day. A pole of attraction for thousands of visitors from all over the world, Ancient Olympia, which is consistently in second place in terms of visitors, right after the Acropolis, is a global space for Sports, Culture and Peace.
Since then and every 4 years the "Olympic Flame" is lit in Olympia and follows a torch relay in various cities of Greece, before the sacred flame is handed over to the representatives of the host country.
